....a 20 minute get-a-way

 

I've spent the last several days working on things which required lots of thought and concentration.  Today I finally finished up those much needed to get done things and had some free time to myself.  Hmmmm.....what to do?  I scanned the bookshelf near my desk where I keep some of my books and scrapbooking albums only to find my eyes focus on my art journal.  I hadn't written in it in such a long time....so I took it out.

Journaling.....requires some thing tasty to drink.....oh yes it was time to try out that recipe I came across on the internet for a frozen frappacino......perfect.  I went inside gathered the few ingredients I needed threw them in the blender and within a couple of minutes.......frozen, chocolate perfection.

 

I think the picture speaks for itself.....ha, get it...speaks for itself.....ok maybe you're not that amused.

Anyway......this little "get-a-way" gave me the opportunity to get several thoughts down on paper regarding a few things God and I have been "wrestling" over.  He has posed a couple of questions.....and one in particular that I need to spend some time really pondering and doing a little soul searching.  Maybe this would be a good place to ask for prayer.....I know I'm not giving you much to go on.....but this is just too personal.....and quite frankly it isn't always necessary to share every little thing.

So if you would.....please pray......and for those of you who are prayer warriors.....please continue to pray as the Lord directs.....thanks.

A new page to go in my art journal.....just started and I'm taking my time in adding other elements

 

I for one am painfully aware that I did not take sufficient "me to be creative" time this week.  I have spent almost the last 2 weeks doing nothing but studying for the weekly Bible study I do with Debora and Rosane and writing lessons for the new English lesson book......and now??  I don't want to do anything that requires me to think or concentrate.  This is a problem given that in about a half and hour I need to go to Santos for my Portuguese class and I really don't want to.

Anyway.....note to self....."you need more time to create so you can recharge and be inspired to return to your studies."

Here are 2 creative projects that are in various stages of process........

 this is the next page I am working on in my art journal.  I painted the background, let it dry and then added the words...."deep down."  I'm letting it completely dry and then I'm going to add more to the page later.

That's my creative outlet....just for me....here's a project I've been working on for a couple of weeks now....

  

No, you don't need to examine your glasses or blink your eyes you are looking at hours of translating my inductive bible study notes from English into Portuguese.  I don't know if everything is exactly correct....but I tried and that's the important thing.  Last week I started going over some of the "nuts and bolts" of inductive study and tonight I will wrap up the first part and then we get to "practice" with a short passage....Matthew 5:13-16.  So please be praying....I'm doing this class in as much Portuguese as I can....and this is my first time actually teaching something in another language.  Well better go......Debora and Rosane arrive in 45 minutes.
